This cookie policy explains which cookies SMBC Capital, Zugerstrasse 32, 6340 Baar, Switzerland ("we"), uses on the website smbccapital.com, for which purposes, and how you can give, change or withdraw your consent. 1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They make it possible to remember settings, to recognise your device on a later visit or to analyse how a website is used. Comparable technologies (for example local storage) are treated in the same way.
2. Legal framework and consent
In Switzerland, the use of cookies is governed by Art. 45c of the Telecommunications Act (TCA) and by the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). For visitors from the EU/EEA, the national rules implementing the ePrivacy Directive (for example Section 25 of the German TDDDG or Section 165(3) of the Austrian TKG 2021) and the GDPR apply. We apply the stricter standard to all visitors: apart from essential cookies, no cookies are set without your prior consent.
On your first visit our cookie notice offers the buttons "Options", "Reject" and "Accept" with equal prominence. Under "Options" you can choose the categories individually:
- Essential (always on): needed for the website to work, stay secure and remember your choice. These cookies do not require consent (Art. 45c TCA; Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Analytics (only with your consent): helps us measure how pages are used (Google Analytics). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 31(1) FADP).
- Marketing (only with your consent): measures the impact of our ads and allows relevant ads to be shown (Google Ads; Meta: Facebook and Instagram). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 31(1) FADP).

Our own website code sets no other cookies. At present, no Google Ads or Meta tag is active on this website; should we use them, they will only be loaded after your consent in the "Marketing" category.
4. Google Analytics
Subject to your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-72HWVEQ65G), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). The Google Analytics script is technically loaded only after you have consented in the "Analytics" category; before that, no request is sent to Google Analytics. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Where data is transferred to Google LLC in the USA, the transfer is based on the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, supplemented by standard contractual clauses. You can additionally prevent collection by Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Further information: Google Privacy Policy.
5. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your selection or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To do so, open the Cookie Preferences; the link is also available in the footer of every page. When you withdraw your consent, the analytics and marketing cookies stored on this domain (_ga, _ga_*, _gcl_au, _fbp, _fbc) are deleted. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
6. Third-party content
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; this does not set cookies. The contact page contains an embedded Google Maps map; when it is displayed, Google may set its own cookies on the google.com domain in accordance with its privacy policy. These cookies are not set on smbccapital.com and cannot be managed through our cookie notice; you can block them in your browser settings. Details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
